The Brain Gain initiative aims to gather the
knowledge transfer (academic studies, research, articles and more)
and have a monitoring system in place that will allow these studies
to be passed on to relevant bodies that can benefit from the brain
gain. An academic research for example that consists of Agricultural
Development of Rural Albania will be passed on to relevant Agricultural
institutions and the impact of that work will be monitored closely
so the studies can be fully valued and closely examined.
International Mobility of Talent
The main push factor of the Albanian emigration has normally
been to seek higher-paid employment and in turn to support the family
income and achieve better living standards. In many cases the Albanian
emigrants (as it is the case with most of the economic emigrants)
initially have experienced low-paid jobs and through years have
acquired resourceful skills and sought studying opportunities which
have helped them climb the career ladder and have become successful
business leaders, managers, solicitors, barristers, teachers, media
experts, social workers, psychologists, engineers, artists, IT professionals,
doctors and more. Hence, once the emigration experience has been
achieved successfully or shall we say once the basic needs and aims
are fulfilled they are very likely to be willing to share or contribute
with their knowledge and talents as their understanding and confidence
in the given area has broadened. However, individual emigrants often
face difficulties to find a platform for such practice. This is
on of the areas Globalb plans to provide, a platform for the mobility
of talents. In doing so Globalb intends to gather a database of
Albanian emigrants around the world, which should facilitate the
mobility of talents in Diaspora and home countries. This initiative
will rely heavily on the participation and active will of emigrants
and non-emigrant talents to contribute and cooperate at their will
and availability. Globalb’s responsibility will be to identify
talents and assist the mobility process through promoting job opportunities
in Diaspora and home countries that can be open to the Albanian
Diaspora as well as promote Talent Exchange workshops or training
sessions.
Diaspora Knowledge Network
One of the main aims of Globalb will be to identify the
different resources that the Albanian Diaspora has to offer and
this will be done through promotion of Globalb in Diaspora, linking
and cooperating with existing organisations in Diaspora and cooperating
with governmental institutions and established international institutions
in Albanian countries. The establishment of these links and data
will then lead to the provision of a central Knowledge Diaspora
Network that will provide a platform for knowledge exchange.
Knowledge Transfer
Knowledge transfer initiative aims to initiate a platform
where gained knowledge or acquired skills can be better put to use
for both the Albanian Diaspora and Albanian nationals at home countries.
An on-line discussion forum for specific knowledge areas will be
established where completed academic research can be exchanged.
Many Albanian students have undertaken academic research that in
many cases is lying on dusted shelves without any notice. This valuable
work can be used to update existing knowledge that can direct policy
making or academic discussions.
