TV Talk-Show “Borderless”
Globalb is  producing a series of television programs each of which will serve as a network platform for building synergies between the Albanian Diaspora around the world and their home. The programmes of this series, amongst other themes, will include personal stories of successful Albanian professionals in Diaspora and a live discussion between guests in studio and the invitees in Diaspora from the different cities in the order sorted below.

Aim of the project
The goal of this project is to portray a panorama of the life of Albanians around the world. Through this series we aim to bring afore personal success stories from different successful professionals within the Albanian Diaspora, as well mirroring the many problems the rest of the Diaspora face in relation with its origin and host countries. The protagonists of these programs will be academics, artist, businesspeople, students and members of the Albanian diplomatic corpse in the respective countries ought to be included in this series. Some of the main aims of this series are:

• To raise wide public awareness of the importance of Diaspora and its potential weight in the social, economical, political and cultural life of the origin country
• To inform the Diaspora organisations about the existence of the “National Strategy for Migration” and to raise awareness towards of their potential role as organised structures to monitor the government strategy
• To stimulate liberal policies that will encourage active involvement and partnership of organised structures of the Diaspora in the political, economical, social and cultural life with their birth place.
• To encourage the Albanian mass-media pay more attention to the Albanian Diaspora and promote moves such as the “National Strategy for Migration”
• To build synergies between the central and the local government structures, civil society, academic institutions and the donation agencies towards a sustainable concerted approaches in order to implement the programmes of “National Strategy for Migration”
• To explore new ways for the channeling and the investment of Diaspora’s remittances towards the birthplace with the aim of developing the latter and the creation of the appropriate ambiance for such investments.

The format of this series will be that of a weekly talk-show debate, which will end with a final mega-conference, in the format of a pan-national congress also planned in “National Strategy for Migration”, which will be held in Tirana.

Objectives of the project
The main objectives of this project is to organise a series of a weekly talk-show debate, which will end with a final mega-talk-show, in the format of a pan-national congress, in which will participate all or most Diaspora organisations from different hosting aforementioned cities, and will discuss the “National Strategy for Migration”.

Format:
The format of this Talk-Show will be that of a live debate between the invitees in the  studio and the invited members of the Diaspora from the respective city through the Video Conferencing technology. The discussants will talk about the chosen topic; will have a chance to express their thoughts, to offer solutions, and to unfold their mutual interests and their different opinions. The talk show will be on a weekly basis, and each week Tirana will discuss with a different city from a different corner of the world. Depending on the number of shows and themes to be treated, in special occasions the show will operate on multipoint connections; connecting two or more cities with Tirana live at the same time.

Participants:
Potential participants in this series, will be students, academics, businesspeople, members of the diplomatic corpse, and wherever appropriate, ordinary members and organisations of the Diaspora. The participation of this wide range of people and challenging the physical distance between Albania and its Diaspora will be enabled by the technology of Video Conferencing. The potential discussants to be invited are members of the government, academic world, representatives of different civil society organisations, members of the business community and representatives of different international organisations currently working in Albania, including their homologues in Kosova, Macedonia and Montenegro, connecting more than one two communication points live on air.

The organisation:
This event will be organised by Globalb in corporation with other organisations and partners in the Diaspora, who will play the co-coordinating role for the necessary local arrangements for each participant city. The different participants, from Tirana, Prishtina, and the Diaspora, will be able to have access to information about one another through Globalb’s specially tailored website for this event. This website will also host all the necessary information with regards to the complete talk show series. Globalb’s website will also serve as a platform of information exchange for the interested parties and people, from different walkways of life. In this website Globalb will host a forum where people will be able to open and discuss their new ideas and topics of concern, as well as make suggestions to the organisers of this series.

Topics:
Each program will deal with one topic whilst remaining within the scope of the “National Strategy for Migration” and the concept “Work Globally-Develop Locally”. The topics will evolve and will be arranged partly depending on the ideas and suggestions put forward by the forum discussants, and mostly by the studies and preparations afforded by Globalb and partners. Some of the main topics to be discussed are:

• The Possibilities of the concept “Work Globally-Develop Locally”
• The necessary steps for the “National Strategy for Migration” and its impact
• The stimulation for the creation and consolidation of the market “Diaspora Export”
• The connectivity of global possibilities with local capacities
• The mobilization and channeling of remittances and savings of the émigré populace in productive investments
• The ways of attracting investors, business and entrepreneur minded members of the Diaspora Lobbying towards the improvement of the image of the Albanians in the world
• How to turn tide from “Brain drain” towards “Brain gain” through the “Global Mobility of Talent”
• The stimulation of initiatives such as “Diaspora Knowledge Network” & “Knowledge Transfer”
• Consular services and procedures of diplomatic representatives of Albania across the world
• The language and the possibilities of opening other schools where the Albanian language is taught
• The future of the Albanians in the Balkans and the European Union

The structure of each talk show:
The chosen title for the talk show is Borderless. The opening credits will display an imaginary travel above the surface of the globe, which will begin in Tirana and will pass through above all the aforementioned cities in a form of a magic tour. The purpose of this opening credit is to express the actual meaning of the title of the series, and to show how the stimulation of creation of synergies will contribute towards breaking the geographical, bureaucratic, socio-cultural and economic barriers that divide the Albanian Diaspora from its birthplace.
